first post from androidcentral.

Hi guys,

First I want to say that none of this work is mine all credit goes to the original creators. Also this is my first thread so be gentle

So this is how I rooted, fixed my 3g, installed the Cannibal Open Touch recovery, and the Cold as Ice Rom . This was done from a stock zvj fully updated phone without using a computer.

***Some general warnings***

You are responsible for your phone. These instructions worked for both phones I tried it on. That's the extent of my testing As always there is a chance something can go wrong so if you brick your phone not my fault. Please read about what you are installing as there is alot of information in the forum post's that i've linked to. This will wipe all your user data.
